Postpartum Doula for A Golden Birth

Colleen Andrade, CPD, CLE (Co-owner) (She/Her)

Hi, I’m Colleen!

Working with children and their families has been my life’s work.  My biggest and greatest accomplishment has been becoming a mother to my two boys.  Being a postpartum doula and lactation educator is another way to share in those magical times and help families adjust to life with a newborn.  Having experienced vastly different prenatal, birth, and postpartum experiences with both of my sons, this lit the passion in me to help others during this time when things can be unexpected.  Training through CAPPA (Childbirth & Postpartum Professional Association) solidified all the reasons why I want to continue to help support families and be a part of their amazing journey as their family grows.  Continuing my education over the years in specific areas helps me provide exceptional care to families.  My hands-on experience, becoming a mother, working as a teacher, and supporting families postpartum for 6 years, has shown me just how different each baby and family are.  That is how I approach support with all the families; tailored, custom and dedicated to your specific needs and goals.  Let my extensive experience bring your growing family joy, comfort, and reassurance during such a transformational time.  I am passionate about helping families through education, preparation, and hands on practical support.  I look forward to sharing your unique beginning with you!

Having Colleen help us postpartum gave us space to enjoy bonding with our baby and gave me the support I needed to breastfeed successfully. When it comes time for baby #2, I will be excited to work with these amazing people again”

Sara Taylor

From the moment she entered our lives, Colleen became an essential pillar of our family.  Her knowledge, expertise, and calming presence were a guiding light during the often chaotic first weeks after Haley’s birth.  Colleen equipped us with the tools to care for Haley with confidence and compassion.  Her guidance was always timely, practical, and seemed to anticipate our needs before we could even articulate them ourselves.”

“I cannot recommend Colleen enough. I truly mean it: shout it from the rooftops type of recommendation! We utilized Colleen’s services after our son was born, and she gave us the care, education, support, and guidance of a lifetime. I genuinely do not think I would be in the place that I’m currently in as a new mother if it wasn’t for her. She provided incredible support and education for me as a first time parent, and was amazing with my son. You can tell this is her passion and the love for her work is evident in everything she does. She goes above and beyond with every task, and I will truly miss working with her.”

Kathryn Saunders

“I had created a list of questions in anticipation for our prenatal visit (but because our daughter arrived earlier we didn’t have the chance) and Colleen went ahead and wrote down all of the answers for me without me even having to ask!  This gesture was so much appreciated and the information she shared so helpful.  Colleen has also been very flexible and understanding with figuring out a way to support us during this time of COVID.”

“Feeling very vulnerable just days after being home from the hospital, it was a breath of fresh air to have Colleen come to our home and help us ease into some of the basics and set us up for success.  We had some variations of challenges in the first few months with our son and Colleen continued to offer her advice, resources, and at times just a positive confidence boost.  We couldn’t be more thankful. “

My husband and I had an amazing experience working with Colleen as our postpartum doula as we welcomed our second child home. Colleen was incredibly supportive with both of my children, and helped our family coordinate moving into a new house during our time together! ”

Anne-Marie Beliveau

“Colleen was paramount to my husband’s and I transition to becoming new parents joining us from the day we brought our baby boy home. She also played a key role in my hard but successful journey to exclusive breastfeeding with her lactation services. I could immediately tell Colleen is passionate about her work and truly enjoys helping families. My baby boy loved her and her calming spirit was always a warm welcome to our family. Colleen also helped me identify my postpartum preeclampsia leading to me being hospitalized and effectively saving my life. I could not have asked for a better postpartum doula, she’s truly a gem! “

Kayia Jones

“We were so fortunate to work with Colleen after the birth of our first child. She is so loving, kind and knowledgeable. She is both so warm and very professional. Colleen provided a non-judgemental approach to helping us learn more about taking care of our baby and adjusting to parenthood! She took initiative to help us with so many tasks and was a wonderful, calm presence in our home. Our whole family felt so taken care of by Colleen!

From the prenatal visit with her, she immediately felt like one of the family (and was quickly a favorite with our dog and cat)! During her visits once our daughter was born, she stepped in to help out with whatever was needed: burping the baby and snuggling her so I could take a shower and a nap, reading a book to our toddler, laundry, straightening up the never ending mess of toys, figuring out how on earth to put the bassinet attachment on our pack and play, you name it, Colleen helped out with a smile on her (masked) face.”

Melissa Page

“Colleen has been an unbelievable help during our time welcoming our first baby! From helping us set up the nursery and giving us tips about our furniture and room arrangement to teaching us how to swaddle and wear our baby to giving our dog lots of supplementary cuddles to reassuring us that we’re doing everything right, Colleen’s support was welcome and incredibly useful. Being able to nap and come out to a happy baby and a clean kitchen is priceless! We really appreciated Colleen’s expertise and sense of humor, and kindness in never making us feel silly despite having no idea what we were doing. It was terrific to have someone so trustworthy and capable during what could have been a very overwhelming time. We will always be grateful to Colleen for her role in helping us find our footing in these first precious months!

Meg Price

“Colleen was amazing! She taught me so much about breastfeeding, sleep and early newborn care.  She was incredibly helpful at home – finding things to do that I didn’t even know I could ask for – laundry, cleaning up the kitchen, lactation cookies…
She was an angel of support those early weeks. She was so sweet and skillful with our son – I learned a lot just watching how she cared for him.

Jessie Morey

“Colleen brought a sense of calm to our home when we welcomed our second child. After a stressful first week home from the hospital, we spoke to Colleen and she found time in her schedule the next day to come. She shared so much of her wisdom, from best ways to burp a newborn to how to help our toddler adjust to his new baby sister. We all felt more comfortable with our new family structure thanks to Colleen and I was able to get some much needed rest during her visits. We wish we’d known about her when we brought our son home from the hospital!”

Mary Wheeldon

“Colleen was amazing, I’m so thankful she was able to help my husband and I as we navigated the shift to being new parents. She taught us so much about taking care of our newborn, offering tips and making recommendations that helped us with our little one. Having that extra support in the early newborn stage made a world of difference; I knew if I had a question or needed anything, Colleen would be there to help. And best of all, she gave us the gift of sleep and took care of our baby so we could nap!

Bonnie Regan

Colleen helped prepare me for what breastfeeding was going to entail and was there for us when we got home from the hospital to make sure everything was going well. She follows up immediately on ANYTHING and is so knowledgeable and patient, can’t thank her enough. “

Nelia Padia

“When my husband and I first met Colleen, we were struck by her warmth, kind-heartedness, and love for her profession. Navigating post-partum was ten-fold easier with her help. She truly is the baby whisperer. Colleen brings forth so much knowledge, experience, and passion. It makes the anxiety and newness of bringing a baby home a more calm, confidence-building experience. Colleen is also extremely well-versed in breast feeding and guided me when it felt extremely difficult and painful at times, providing tips and tricks to ease the pain. When my breast feeding journey came to an end, with her help, we quickly identified the best bottle, feeding positions, and support I needed to properly feed my baby.  I cannot recommend Colleen enough.  We are forever grateful for her and hope to have her again when baby number 2 comes along in the future!”
